Cathryn Michon talks about dating, relationships, love and lust in her blog Grrl Genius.

Tell us about yourself.
I am an award-winning actress, writer and stand-up comedian. I’m the author of the Grrl Genius book series: The Grrl Genius Guide to Life and The Grrl Genius Guide to Sex (with Other People) . When I had the world’s lowest self-esteem, I declared myself to be a Grrl Genius and wrote a book about how to have high self-esteem, and it has worked out great! When I was going through a horrible divorce, I declared myself to be a sex and relationship expert, despite the fact that I was not having sex and had never had a good relationship. That’s worked out great too! I fell in love with a wonderful man, and now live with him — and sometimes with varying subsets of his three enormous children from a previous marriage.

I am currently starring in the feature film “Cook Off!” which was based on her first Grrl Genius book and just premiered at the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival. The movie features such comedy all-stars as Diedrich Bader (Napoleon Dynamite) Mindy Sterling (Austin Powers) Markie Post (There’s Something About Mary) Wendi McLendon-Covey (Reno 911) and too many more to name here.

What is your blog about?
It is about love in all its incarnations. Relationships, family, work, all of these. The blog is really an open conversation between people trying to figure out how to be happy in their personal life…a good goal!

How did you get started?
iVillage read one of my books and asked me to write a blog for them…so I did!

What is the source of your content?
Me and my big fat opinions.

How frequently do you write / post?
About three times a week.

Does your blog generate revenue?
I am paid to write the blog, yes.

Who visits your blog? Tell us a little bit about your readers.
Mostly women in their twenties and thirties though I get men, and some women in their forties and fifties. They are very smart, literate and many of them have blogs of their own that are well-written and fascinating. I am constantly blown away by the genius and wit of my readers.

Do you consider yourself successful in blogging? Why?
Oh I have no idea, I hope so!

Do you have another job?
Many, many jobs. Actress, book author, comic, producer, TV and film writer, public speaker, I do everything but taxes.

Any advice, suggestion, tips or a message you would like to give to other bloggers?
I’m hoping they have advice for me! Write well…and honestly, and kindly…that’s the best anyone can do.
