What is your blog about?
Our blog is a journal of fashion, beauty, trends and any girly stuff that we are interested in at that moment. Our blog is more about our (and our readers’) opinions rather than actual fashion news and facts. After all, you can read about such fashion news at authorative ‘official’ fashion sites.

Tell us about yourself / your team.
There are two of us - Barneys Girl and Harrods Girl. We’re both college students studying in Chicago and London respectively. We have been great friends since high school (in Hong Kong) and we thought it would be fun and therapeautical to have a site to talk about our interests.

Are you the only author / contributor?
Yes, it’s just the two of us.

How did you get started?
We’d been talking about starting a website for a long time, we even made a spider diagram of it once during lunch break in high school. But with the lack of time and our limited html skills, we never got around to it until late 2004/ early 2005, when we found out about blogs. We thought, finally a user friendly way to start a website. So we got together one day, registered for an account and here we are!

Source of your content?
Everywhere! We get our inspiration from things we see in our daily life and we write about what we think of it. Sometimes if we need more information, we’d go to other sites to look it up and incorporate it with our content.

How frequently do you write / post?
We post once a day, Mon to Sat.

Does your blog generate revenue?
Not at the moment.

Who visits your blog? Tell us a little bit about your readers.
We don’t know precisely, but we think our readers are mainly young people like us who share our interest for fashion and all things girly.

Do you consider yourself successful in blogging? Why?
We’re not sure about our “success” but we think that readers like our blog because we write about down to earth topics, which they can relate to. It’s mostly just fun for us to be able to share our views with people with the same interests as us!

Do you have another job?
We’re full time students.

Fatback has been talking about Sexy, Southern gossip in his blog Fatback and Collards. In our Enterview, we asked him to explain why he believes bless your heart really does mean I hate you.

What is your blog about?
Fatback and Collards covers celebrity gossip, entertainment and music news, Hollywood hi jinxes and lots of lies that we make up to get chicks.

Tell us about yourself / your team.
I’m Fatback, the main editor. That’s nom de plume, which is a fancy French term that keeps me from getting fired for blogging at work. I’m a badass. People respect that. That’s why I’m feared and maligned in the blogosphere.

Are you the only author / contributor?
I have several sexy writers that collaborate with me at my secret island mansion. We mostly write stories in the nude using ink harvested from poisonous octopi. Then I pay an island girl to type all of it on my laptop because I don’t like touching technology with my bare hands.

How did you get started?
I started the site as a tongue in cheek parody of southern life with some celebrity gossip thrown in. I quickly realized that nobody cared about what I had to say, they were more interested in Paris Hilton and Britney Spears and whom they were having sex with at the moment. PhD completely wasted.

Source of your content?
Although our stories are ripped from the headlines, we add original spicy commentary that sets us apart from the regular rabble. Our gossip site is classy. Like those little cherries in fancy cocktails. For reals. No Billy Bush, star coddling here. If you’re famous and act a fool, you’re gonna get both barrrels. Also, if you’re hot and moderately naked, you have a special place in our hearts.

How frequently do you write / post?
3-5 times a day. Sometimes more if my boss is being a bitch.

Does your blog generate revenue?
Yes. But a gentleman must stay discreet. *cough* I’m rich *cough*.

Who visits your blog?
Fatback and Collards visitors are typically really smart, supermodels who like to run on the beach at night with no clothes. That and a pretty good mix of all races, creeds, colors, incomes and education levels. I usually suggest having a dictionary around, because we can get pretty high brow. We’re an erudite bunch. (See? Told you!) Our readers are very engaged and come from all over not just from the south. I’m like an ambassador of sexy blog love bringing the blogosphere together for the good of all.

Do you consider yourself successful in blogging?
Why? Yes. I’m pretty funny, I know search engine optimization and I make lots of money.

What do you think is the reason behind your success?
Complete awesomeness on the genetic level. I’m practically a superhero.

Do you have another job?
Yes. Shhhhh.

Alan Parekh regularly talks about hacking gadgets in his blog Hacked Gadgets. His discussions range anywhere from Cool Gadgets to Insane Equipments. Here is how he does it:

I have worked in the electronics profession for many years, I also have interests in software engineering and embedded systems development.

What is your blog about?
Hacked Gadgets features a wide variety of things, lots of electronic related projects. But most entries have a strange twist to them, the Top 5 uses for a dead Hard Drive article comes to mind as a great example.

Are you the only author / contributor?
For the Hacked Gadgets blog I do all the postings but there are many devoted readers who send in regular article suggestions. We also have a forum, and there are a bunch of talented helpful people who are constantly helping new members out.

How did you get started?
In late 2005 I posted some of my personal projects on a new site (www.alan-parekh.com). Those few projects seemed to get overnight mass attention. Shortly thereafter I started Hacked Gadgets as a way to showcase similar crazy projects from like minded individuals.

Why do you blog?
I blog because it is fun of course.

Source of your content?
In the beginning all of the content was scrounged up by myself, I love reading about obscure things that people have created… There is no end to the available content on the net. I have also created a fair number of the projects myself and then there are readers who were inspired by something they saw on Hacked Gadgets and decided to make their own version of it and submit it. I also subscribe to a ton of RSS feeds, but I try hard to bring fresh content to the site.

How frequently do you write / post?
One to two posts per day is the average.

Does your blog generate revenue?
It makes enough to cover the operating expenses.

Who visits your blog?
There has not been a formal survey, but the site generates tons of reader email. From what I can gather a large percentage of them are electrical engineering types, studying to become one, or are in other high tech industries.
